Loved the atmosphere of this place. I loved the empanadas, I had a bbq brisket and also a beef chipotle with sweet plantains and it was amazing! 10/10
Owned by a very sweet mother and daughter. Empanadas were very tasty and they have veggie options as well. Also, their coquito latte is to die for! Highly recommend this hidden gem.
If you're looking for a quick bite or a sweet treat, Salt and Sugar is the place to go. Offering a variety of pastries and sweets such as banana breads, muffins and macaroons. They also have a good selection of empanadas, I got the beef chipotle with sweet plantains (so yummy I wish I got 2) while my boyfriend got the bbq brisket, both of which were delicious. For drinks, they have lattes, hot chocolate, and matcha. I got a strawberry matcha which was tasty, but they also offer flavors like blueberry and cinnamon. Definitely a cute little cafe with very cute decor. 10/10 recommend Salt and Sugar. <3
Very cute little shop. We got some macaroons and they were baked perfectly and had delicious, unique flavors with each one being distinct.
Went to their grand opening and tried their macarons and empanadas. As a baker myself and an aficionado of desserts, I can confidently say that these are the best macarons I have had in a LONG time. The texture is perfect, filling is not runny but also not crunchy hard, and they’re generously sized and well priced. I would even venture to say they are better than the French bakeries in the area. The empanada I picked was the beef and plantain — WOW what a burst of flavor. Packed with stuffing and the wrapping was perfectly made. 10/10 experience. You bet I’ll be coming back. Well done 😊
This was my first time ever visiting Salt & Sugar and I absolutely loved it!!! The texture and flavor of the beef and cheese empanada was delicious and had a sweet and salty taste to them. Everyone must try them! The decorations at the shop adorable and the owner Nicole was so sweet. Also, learning about her background allowed me to understand her and her purpose. I learned that the empanadas originate from the Dominican Republic as well as the rice pudding and flan. The macaroons she learned to make originate from France and matcha originates from Japan. There are many other flavored empanadas to try as well as tasty drinks. I am glad I had the opportunity to stop by this beautiful shop and learn about Nicole and try the tasty food.
Super cute place with delicious empanadas! Their empanadas are actually stuffed and not filled with air. The strawberry matcha latte was so good and I finished it within minutes. Heads up that the inside is relatively small but has a seating area. Definitely a place I’d visit every time I’m in the area!!
I adore this place! I love the strawberry matcha and the buffalo chicken empanada with the sauce they include. Such a cute and clean interior and very kind staff. This is a new favorite spot of mine in Lancaster! Thank you for running such a cute and delicious business! It is so good and the service was so friendly I stopped in twice in one day!💕🍓🍵 and they also happily accommodated my request for extra strawberry and foam. Adorable little sweet and savory macaron and empanada bake shop with friendly staff and tasty wares. I was the first customer for the bakery on Grand Opening Day. I wish they would offer free empanadas and macarons for life. Very tasty community bakery which will be a nice addition to Lancaster City. Give them a try. You will be back. Definitely rates as some of the best matcha I’ve had! The cutest little shop bursting with flavors from the various matcha flavors to the delicious macaroons! Raspberry was by far my favorite and cannot wait to come back for more! && to try those empanadas in the case!
